Don’t think i have forgotten about OneBillionPageViews.com, its still up and still getting thousands of hits a day! I appreciate everyone’s ongoing support & i still speak to press etc plugging the site when i where i can! There are so many copycat sites on the net now its shocking, some even claim to be there before i launched mine, i take this as a compliment & i’m proud to have given these people inspiration! Those that follow my blog know i have alot on my plate at the moment so i cannot dedicate as much time as i used to… however, i will win this bet & prove to all those critics that it is possible to get one billion people to view a site without spending a single penny on advertising!

I have been away for a little while as i have a friend in hospital, they are slowly recovering and should be better soon! so I haven’t been able to write on the blog, but I’m back & will try to catch up with you as much as I can!! We went past the 600,000 mark and I missed the screenshot! grrrrrr, please post it on the guestbook if you have it! Thanks for all the comments I have been getting on the guestbook, they are really encouraging and keep me motivated!

We have reached the half million point and its only been 66 days since the site has been online, its been a hard & long struggle so far and I appreciate all the support people have shown me, without you, this would be impossible! I managed to grab the half million point screenshot, had to stay up till 4.40am just to get the genuine screenshot! Don’t forget, if you own a website, please add your link to our links database!! Closer to the BIG HALF MILLION every day, we now stand at 467,234 and have had over 25,000 visits in the last 2 days alone! I hope I can grab a screen shot of the 500,000 mark! On a separate note, I posted about another billion page views website back on the 22nd of Jan 2006, it seems they have now decided to copy a lot of our site layout, some scripts we use, marketing techniques, website design etc, I would just like to remind you that i’m not affiliated with them in any way, I do not endorse any website that copies another website’s text etc in such a way, this is a project i started of my own back, from scratch, with my own marketing idea’s! So lets stay focussed and make this happen!

Copycat, who? what? where?

Some of you may have noticed that I spoke about another billion page views website on my blog just days after launching this one, I posted about them on my blog here, they have since changed their entire site to look more or less like mine, they also have installed all the same scripts I use, even copied the blog, just to set the record straight, I have never once said I was the first to make a site like this (as you can see in my initial post), I certainly didn’t know about them when I launched mine, anyway, they are also e-mailing all people that link into this website asking them not to link us and to change the links to them saying that I copied their design etc, those that know my site know that I havn’t copied anyone, there are web/screenshot (even the google cache) archives on the internet that can prove that, they have copied this site down to a T (everything from the guestbook, blog, friends list, the lot), they also search the internet for forums talking about us and highjack the thread with links going back to their site, not the most ethical way of marketing a site is it?

Since I have never employed such methods on them or even approached any of their links, I do not appreciate them doing that to us, however, i’m a firm believer, what goes around, comes around, I will continue with my efforts and still continue a ethical approach without approaching any of their link partners etc. I will also come up with innovative ideas like our links list etc by myself and not copy any of their methods as they have done us.

Good luck to them, my intention was never to step on any toes.

We are now officially in the World’s Top 50,000 websites according to Alexa.com, we actually rank 44,380 & are on a constant rise! I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has shown there on-going support for the website, we are now at 435,442, very close to the BIG HALF MILLION!

I’m now back from Dubai, was tough getting on the net out there even though it was readily available, too many distractions etc… anyway, now i’m back, we can get back on the case of getting to our next major goal, the BIG HALF MILLION, the counter currently stands at 429,237 so we are well on our way, I did do some press interviews out in Dubai which will start appearing soon… so that will all help! I will start promoting again from today! Lets get back on the case people… we can do this!

I’m flying to Dubai today for 2 weeks so I may not be on the site as much, I will try to check it as and when I can via internet cafe’s etc… I have got a few meeting’s booked with the press over there for the website in the hope that they will help promote it in Dubai… I think the Dubai public will like the site & help promote it aswell…

Google have just done a update and gave the website a 5 out of 10!! most other pages on the site a 4… this is wicked news, a 5 isnt bad, the site is predicted a 6 on the next update! =0)
